Mere Ambles Ellesmere
All walks start at 11.00am on first Wednesday of the month
For healthy walking and getting fit
Even if you do little or no physical activity, just starting to do a little more each week will improve your health.

A great starting point would be to go along to one of the Mere Amble health walks. The walks are aimed at people who do little or no physical activity, but would like to make a start to change their lifestyle. The walk is lead at a pace to suit you, so there is no need to worry that you
won’t keep up.

Wednesday 2nd January 2008 Colemere

Meet at the Wharf Ellesmere – transport will be available to take everyone to the car park at Colemere. This is a  lovely walk around the mere at any time of year. It is  partly on surfaced paths with a few steps which have a hand rail, and gradients.

Wednesday 6th February Meres Visitors Centre

This is an easy flat walk through Cremorne gardens and woods, with the possibility of heading a little way across the fields in the direction of Welshampton, but only if everyone present feels up to it – we are trying to be flexible to cater for everyone.

Wednesday 5th March Canal & Blakemere

Meet at the Wharf Ellesmere – transport will be available to take everyone to the car park over the canal tunnel. From there the walk along the canal towpath is past Blakemere, and on as far as we feel able.

Wednesday 2nd April Meres Visitor Centre

Another local walk and we will decide on the day the exact route, depending on the weather, conditions underfoot, and how fit we all feel! Castlefields and the Plantation will be included.
